FRODENO FUN(D)

DREAM BOX PROJECT

As happened to Jan as a child, our little ones in Salt live day to day and have no time to dream. Frodeno Fun(d) want dreams to come back, we want to help them reflect on their future and accompany them on the hard path to achieve their goals.

That is the Dream Box, a box full of illusions that want to come true. 400 boys and girls of Salt have worked hard in each of their dreams and we want to thank him. We’ll organize talks with people who have succeeded in ther dreams to motivate them to work hard for their dreams.

When I was about 11 years old, my family and I moved from Germany to South Africa, and all my dreams at that time were shattered. A new country, a new language and no friends. I couldn’t dream because at that moment my day to day was more important. The years passed and I grew up in that new country, learned the new language, made friends, and my dreams came back to me stronger than ever.

My dream when I was a child was to be able to watch the Barcelona Olympics on television. Yes, as simple as that but it seemed magical to me to see my team and the Australian athletes defending our country. My idol for those Olympics was without a doubt Susie O’Neill, an Australian swimmer with 8 Olympic medals, better known as Miss Butterfly.
One day I was lucky enough to meet her face to face; by surprise. I was a little girl but I will never forget her that day. And I admit that it changed my life as it inspired me to follow in his footsteps.
